Dear FIENS Community,

We are thrilled to announce the establishment of the FIENS Mukhtar A. Sheikh Fellowship. This fellowship will be offered in addition to The Clack Family Scholarship and the Bassett Fellowship, and will aim specifically on building neurosurgical capacity in Pakistan.

The FIENS Mukhtar A. Sheikh fellowship was established in partnership with FIENS’ newest board member, Dr. Aneela Darbar and the Sheikh family.

The fellowship will cover the traveling and living expenses for a three-six-month period to be spent observing the activities of a neurosurgical service that has an established relationship with FIENS. The fellowship will be awarded yearly on the basis of a competitive evaluation by a committee composed of FIENS members. The maximum fellowship stipend is $7,000. For further details on this fellowship and how to apply, please click here.

We encourage you to share this announcement with any young neurosurgeons who may benefit from this fellowship and invite them to apply.

Thank you, Aneela, the Sheikh Family and all members of the FIENS community who tirelessly strive to increase access to neurosurgery through investing in the education of young neurosurgeons globally.
