The FIENS Bassett Fellowship is a competitive traveling fellowship that is awarded to 8 neurosurgical residents each year who, at the time of their application, are currently participating in a training residency or have completed their residency in the last 5 years in an LMIC.
Since 2016, through the support of our founding sponsor and fellowship hosts, we have contributed to building global neurosurgical capacity in the Philippines, Myanmar, Cameroon, Uganda, Nigeria, Egypt, Pakistan, Benin, Zambia, Malaysia, Kenya, Jordan, Algeria, Paraguay, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Nigeria. To date, 33 young neurosurgeons have been awarded this traveling fellowship
