Sanjiv Bhatia Global Fellowship

Accepting fellowship applicants and fellowship research program mentors

Our partners at American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons(CNS) Section on Pediatric Neurosurgery are accepting fellowship applicants and fellowship research program mentors for the Sanjiv Bhatia Global Fellowship.

The Sanjiv Bhatia Global Fellowship offers an international traveling fellowship for senior residents and pediatric neurosurgery fellows currently enrolled in ACGME accredited neurosurgery or pediatric neurosurgery fellowship. It is an opportunity to enrich the candidate’s training with research in a low- or middle-income country.

Each project is required to have a pediatric neurosurgeon mentor (Pediatric Section members with global experience), a local mentor and host site, as well as a research plan and approval from the applicant’s residency or program director. Interested candidates should submit applications listing the candidate’s name, current training program and year and proposed travelling fellowship dates. The applications should also describe in detail the research project and how it will enhance the candidate’s neurosurgical training. Successful candidates will receive a fellowship stipend of $5000 to cover travel and living expenses for a two – three month and will present their research at the Section meeting the following year. Fellowships will be awarded yearly based on a competitive evaluation by the selection committee.
